Mi vecina Lovet fue quien me hablo sobre RainWise. Me intereso porque en primer lugar, me dijo que sería un jardín diferente. Se miraría mejor y que no necesitaría tanta agua. Mi hijo se comunicó con un contratista y ya fue cuando vinieron a ver la propiedad. Cuando la contratista vino se hizo un hoyo donde se pensaba instalar el jardín para medir la tasa de infiltración del agua y ya después nos avisó que si era elegible para hacer el jardín. 

Lo que más me gusta de mi jardín son las flores. Cuando llueve fuerte el jardín se llena de agua y si se desborda se va hacia la calle. Normalmente toma dos días para bajar el agua cuando llueve muchísimo. He notado que el suelo esta húmedo y permite que crezcan rápido las plantas. Ya les he dicho a dos de mis compañeras de trabajo para que puedan ahorrar agua. Yo no pude tener una cisterna pero es posible que ellas sí. Antes del programa RainWise yo no tenía jardín, solo tenía unas piedras de decoración y ahora el jardín quedo mejor. ¡Hasta me salió una planta de pepino! 

My neighbor Lovet told me about the RainWise program. I was interested because she told me a rain garden was a different type of garden which would look better and not require as much watering. My son contacted a contractor and that’s when they came to look at my property. The contractor came and dug a hole where the rain garden would be installed to test how fast the water would drain. Once that was done, she said we were eligible for the rain garden rebate.

My favorite thing about the garden is all of the flowers. When it rains, the garden fills up with water and any overflow goes out toward the street. After a heavy rain, it usually takes a couple of days for the garden to drain. I’ve noticed the soil is usually moist and helps the plants to grow very quickly. I’ve told a couple of my coworkers about the program so they can save water. I wasn’t able to have a cistern installed but it’s possible they would be able to. I gave them contact information to learn more about RainWise.

I didn’t have a garden before RainWise; I only had decorative rocks and grass but now it looks much better. I even found a cucumber plant growing!
